Privacy Policy

Controller

The data controller is Aske Engineering, a sole proprietorship registered in Norway. Organisation number: TODO. Contact: post@askeengineering.no.

What is collected

  • This website. A static site with no analytics and no tracking cookies. The hosting provider, Vercel, processes standard request logs (such as IP address and user agent) to deliver and protect the site.
  • Downloads. Installers are served from GitHub Releases, which processes your request under GitHub’s own privacy statement.
  • NIRWizard itself. The application runs on your own computer. Your recordings, studies and results stay on your machine; nothing is uploaded unless you send feedback.
  • In-app feedback. When you use Feedback in NIRWizard, the category, title, description, app version and operating system are sent to this website and delivered by email through Resend. Your email address is included only if you enter it, so a reply can be sent.
  • Email. If you write to post@askeengineering.no, the message and your contact details are kept in order to reply.
  • Earlier purchases. Customers who bought a subscription before version 0.1.8 had payment and customer data processed by Polar, which issued the licence key. See Polar’s privacy policy for how they handle payment data.
  • Answering feedback and email: legitimate interest in supporting the software.
  • Past purchases: performance of a contract, and legal obligations under Norwegian accounting law.
  • Website logs: legitimate interest in running a secure site.

Sharing

Data is shared only with the providers named above (Vercel, GitHub, Resend and, for past purchases, Polar). Personal data is never sold.

Retention

Feedback and email are kept for as long as they are useful for supporting NIRWizard, and accounting records for as long as Norwegian law requires. TODO: state retention periods.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you can ask for access to your personal data, and for it to be corrected, deleted, restricted or ported, and you can object to processing. Write to post@askeengineering.no. You can also complain to the Norwegian Data Protection Authority (Datatilsynet).
