Aske ENGINEERING
A name with history
Aske Engineering is a one-person software company in Norway, building focused, practical tools for technical work. The name is older than the company.

Named for my grandfather
Aske Engineering was my grandfather's company. Thore Aske ran an engineering business under the name, and around 1980 the Larvik newspaper Østlandsposten profiled him under a headline I've never forgotten.
In Norwegian folktales, Askeladden, the “Ash Lad”, is the youngest, most underestimated brother who solves the problems no one else can, through curiosity, resourcefulness and sheer stubbornness. The nickname was a play on our family name, Aske, and on exactly that reputation: the person you call when something needs figuring out.
I've revived Aske Engineering to honour him, and to carry the same spirit of careful, practical problem-solving into scientific software.
Adam Aske
I build software for neuroscience and signal processing. That has grown into a small line of open-source tools, nirconn, neuropipeline and cofre-spectrum, and NIRWizard, a desktop application for the whole fNIRS study.
